A series of illustrations was produced for Yale's premier music publication, Volume Magazine. They accompanied a feature article on Wham City, a Baltimore-based collective of musicians and visual artists not joined together by a common philosophy, but whose output nonetheless shares a distinctive low-fidelity, DIY, neo-psychedelic aesthetic.
The illustrations were created digitally and compressed multiple times using lossy file formats to purposefully degrade the image quality. The resulting artifacts, normally considered undesirable, were themselves manipulated an incorporated into the final compositions.
